PORTA DI VICARI
Porta Di Vicari was built due to the creation of Maqueda street. It opened towards the southern countryside. Originally the gateway should have been called “Manriquez”, but it was then entitled to the praetor of the town Francesco Del Bosco, Vicari’s count. At the beginning it was unadorned but, thanks to the praetor Ferdinando Gravina, Palagonia prince, it was beautified in 1716. In 1789 it was rebuilt to the place where actually is.
